KALAMAZOO COUNTY, MI Law enforcement officials deployed spike strips to successfully stop a fleeing vehicle early Sunday morning, Dec. 20 in Kalamazoo.
The driver of the vehicle was arrested for fleeing/eluding, possession of a firearm and outstanding warrants, the Kalamazoo County Sheriff’s Office said in a news release.
Deputies were initially dispatched to the Red Roof Inn West in Oshtemo Township at 5425 W. Michigan Ave. at midnight to investigate an a report of felonious assault in which a firearm was said to have been pointed at an individual, police said.

KALAMAZOO, Mich. â Kalamazoo police were dispatched following reports concerning a gunshot victim Sunday night.
Officers arrived in the area of South Westnedge Avenue and Howard Street where they found the victim inside a vehicle, according to the Kalamazoo Department of Public Safety.
Police say the 23-year-old resident from Kalamazoo had sustained an apparent gunshot wound.
Weâre told the victimâs injuries are non-life-threatening and that the victim was taken to a local hospital.
The incident is under investigation.

KALAMAZOO, Mich. â A vehicle hit by gunfire Friday afternoon in Kalamazoo had a 4-month-old inside, the Kalamazoo Department of Public Safety said.
Officers responded to multiple reports of gunfire about 1:45 p.m. in the 1300 block of Fox Ridge Drive.
Detailed descriptions were given of the people and vehicles involved by witnesses in the area.
Responding officers stopped an involved vehicle that had been hit by gunfire.
The occupant was hastily leaving the area after their vehicle was hit and had a 4-month-old child with them.
