A pilot programme is set to examine the return of large sporting events, gigs and festivals over the summer.
The government is preparing to host trial events to see how they can be safely managed before everyone is vaccinated.
The new plan for easing restrictions also suggests nightclubs could return towards the end of the year.

Visiting people at home resumes with restrictions from May 10th
Visiting people at their house is back on the cards from Monday week, May 10
th.
Yesterday evening the Taoiseach announced an increase in the number of people that can meet outdoors for social/recreational purposes, including in private gardens.
From May 10
th, a maximum of 3 households or 6 people from any number of households can visit in private gardens. This limit of 6 does not include their children aged 12 or younger
Then there is what’s termed the “Vaccine bonus” for indoor visiting
From 10 May, indoor private home visiting is permitted (without masks or social distancing) in the following cases:

Mayo Road Safety Officer, Noel Gibbons says with the county’s green spaces attracting more visitors as a result of the Covid-19 lockdown, many locations are much busier than usual. He is reminding people not to cause any obstruction when parking at these locations.
Poor and inconsiderate parking can cause problems for emergency vehicles, and can lead to inconvenience for other road users and pedestrians, as well as harming wildlife and the countryside.
People should only park in official carparks and parking spaces and should not park on grass verges or block roads. Inconsiderate parking causes obstructions on roads, which can make it difficult for emergency vehicles and farm traffic to pass .
