Crews are carrying out emergency repairs to a burst watermain in Galway Published: Friday, 16 April 2021 12:34 Crews are carrying out emergency repairs to a significant burst to a watermain in the centre of Spiddal village, affecting supply to customers in Spiddal and surrounding areas.  Irish Water and Galway County Council Crews are working to repair this burst as quickly and as safely as possible and in line with COVID-19 protocols. The Spiddal to Moycullen Road will be closed while these repairs are underway and traffic management and diversions will be in place. Supply has been maintained to most areas through the diversion of flow through alternative sections of the pipe network so the vast majority of customers will have continuity of supply.

Once the burst has been located, emergency repairs will be carried out as safely as possible and in line with COVID-19 protocols. Given the impact this burst has had on the local water supply it may be tomorrow before a full supply is returned to all customers.
