The Taoiseach is starting three days of virtual events with the US today ahead of St. Patrick s Day.
Micheal Martin isn t able to meet people in person this year due to the pandemic.
However, he will continue the tradition of celebrating St. Patrick s Day with the United States during these virtual events from today until Wednesday.
He ll hold a policy address to the Washington D.C.-based Brookings Institution today, to set out his thinking on managing relations on and off the island post-Brexit.
This evening, he ll speak at the US launch of From Whence I Came: The Kennedy Legacy, Ireland & America , edited by Brian Murphy & Donnacha Ó Beacháin.
Glenisland road reopens outside Castlebar, following serious collision
The R312 Glenisland road outside Castlebar has reopened, following a serious road collision yesterday evening.
At about 7pm, a motorcyclist in his 20 s was seriously injured when his bike left the road at Glenisland.
He was taken by ambulance to Mayo University Hospital.
A forensic examination at the scene and now concluded, and the road has reopened to traffic.
Castlebar Gardai are appealing for any witnesses to come forward.

Gardaí are continuing to seek the public s help in tracing the whereabouts of Alin Hiemesch, aged 31 years, who is missing from his home in Ballina, Co.Mayo.
Alin was last seen on Tuesday 2nd March 2021 in the Ballina area.
Alin is 5’ 9” in height with brown eyes and black hair.
When last seen, he was wearing black trousers, a grey hooded jacket, and a woolly hat with a distinctive red bobble on top.
Gardaí are concerned for Alin’s welfare.
