Design consultants appointed for Digital Creative Hub in West Roscommon Design consultants have been appointed for the planning of a Digital Creative Hub in Ballaghadereen. The Digital Creative Hub will be built at the Fairgreen, and will work with creative enterprise start-ups and develop existing creative businesses, using and developing digital technologies. It will also provide a permanent base for the Family Resource Centre. This is part of the regeneration of Ballaghadereen town centre, and will lead to a total investment in the town of about €3 million. An online creative group for chronically ill people in Mayo will run throughout March & April Published: Saturday, 06 March 2021 13:09 Chronic Chats is an online creative group for chronically ill people in Mayo led by chronically ill artist and designer Áine O’Hara. The group will meet weekly for six weeks in March and April to chat and create. Áine is looking for a small number of participants over 18 years to take part in the group.  Chronic Chats is a peer support group for those who are sick or housebound due to health conditions and have been experiencing the isolation that often comes with illness. This experience of isolation can be either recent or long term.

€295,000 in funding allocated to scenic part of north Mayo Funding of 295,000 has been confirmed for Belleek in Ballina. €200,000 has been allocated for the Monasteries Trail in Ballina, for a trail extension to Belleek Woods, and additional section of the Monasteries of the Moy Greenway and Western Way. Funding of 95,000 euro has also been confirmed to go towards the continued refurbishment of the Gate Lodge at Belleek. Many listeners will be familiar with driving under the iconic structure as you enter Belleek. Deputy Calleary says this a further investment in developing the Belleek area into one of the most attractive areas in the country.
