Portion Of Catawba County Road To Be Closed For N.C. 16 Widening
May 12, 2021
A N.C. Department of Transportation contractor will close a section of a Catawba County road next week to resume improvements on a state highway. Buffalo Shoals Road will be closed between Little Mountain Road and N.C. 16 starting Monday (May 17).
This is part of the overall construction project to widen N.C. 16 to four lanes and improve traffic flow. The closure will allow crews to perform grading, some asphalt milling and paving of the existing Buffalo Shoals Road to tie into the new alignment of N.C. 16. This closure is expected to last a week, weather permitting.
