About Korea Importers Association By Choe Chong-dae
The year 2020 marks the 50th anniversary of the founding of the Korea Importers Association (KOIMA). KOIMA has been serving as a platform in facilitating the entry of world imports into Korea and matching Korean importers with qualified and reliable foreign suppliers since its establishment in Dec, 1970. Over the past five decades, KOIMA has played a pivotal role in developing Korean industries by sourcing a wide range of raw materials from abroad.
Since Korea does not have an abundance of natural resources, it is necessary for Korea to import both relevant industrial raw materials as well as semi-finished commodities for securing economic growth.
