WEDNESDAY UPDATES: Active coronavirus cases remain steady in Boone County
Weekend events bring more people into Columbia resulting in more traffic for businesses
The Columbia/Boone County Department of Public Health and Human Services is reporting six new COVID-19 cases.
There are currently 57 active cases in the county, a one case increase from Tuesday.
The county now has a reported total number of COVID-19 cases of 18,514.
The county has reported the total number of cases removed from isolation is 18,341.
The health department is reporting three Boone County residents are in the hospital due to the coronavirus.

TUESDAY UPDATES: Missouri partnerships help homebound residents to get COVID-19 vaccines

Central Jackson County Fire District, Captain Paramedic, Nathan Manley is providing vaccination to a homebound resident.
The Missouri Department of Health and Senior Services (DHSS) is working with other statewide agencies to help homebound adults have a streamlined and accessible vaccination experience across the state.
The homebound referral process begins with the Area Agencies on Aging who help identify homebound residents. Adults who are homebound and want to be vaccinated in their home can register through their local Area Agency on Aging or through the Missouri Vaccine Navigator registry by indicating they are homebound.
MID-MISSOURI- With more people getting their COVID-19 vaccinations, less vaccines are needed. This decrease of demand is seen in Cole and Boone Counties.
According to the Cole County Health Department, they have requested zero vaccines from the Department of Health and Senior Services in the last several weeks.
The first week of April was the last time CCHD requested 4,680 doses of Pfizer, according to the health department. CCHD received those doses and is currently still using that inventory.
The Columbia/Boone County Department of Public Health and Human Services received about 1,100 Pfizer doses during the week of May 17 to distribute as supplies last, according to Columbia/Boone County PHHS Information Specialist Sara Humm.
