WEDNESDAY UPDATES: Indian Hills Park to host COVID-19 vaccination clinic Saturday KMIZ Vials of the Moderna coronavirus vaccine. Indian Hills Park will host a coronavirus vaccine outreach clinic Saturday from 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. with help from Columbia/Boone County Public Health and Human Services (PHHS),Boone Health and MU Health Care. The clinic is being held at the park for neighbors in the area but all are welcome to schedule an appointment. Moderna will be given at this clinic so anyone aged 18 or older is eligible for the vaccine. The vaccine is free and no health insurance is required.

High schools are also planning in-person ceremonies and proms, including Columbia Public Schools and the Jefferson City School District. Last week the North Callaway School District relaxed its restrictions on capacity at events, saying events will now be held with 80% of capacity.

Missouri DHSS has added 46 COVID-19 related deaths after state’s disease surveillance system analyzed several death certificates. Officails say the deaths will be captured and reported publicly through the dashboard Tuesday morning. Of the 46 deaths: 16 in April Officials at DHSS report the weekly activity typically causes a sharp increase in the deaths added to Missouri’s total the following day. DHSS is now regularly analyzing death certificates on Mondays. Officials say the state does not track probable or pending deaths. Columbia Chamber of Commerce and the Columbia Convention and Vistors Bureau ask for patience
