The director of the Columbia/Boone County Department of Public Health and Human Services on Thursday extended the current COVID-19 order, which had been set to expire Tuesday.
The Columbia/Boone County Department of Public Health and Human Services is reporting 15 new COVID-19 cases.
There are currently 111 active cases in the county.
The county now has a reported total number of COVID-19 cases of 18,062.
The county has reported the total number of cases removed from isolation is 17,866.
The Columbia/Boone County Department of Public Health and Human Services dashboard has reported the latest five-day average as 14.
It was long incoming for some, but starting today, anyone 16 years of age and older is eligible to receive the COVID-19 vaccine.
Many in this phase have been waiting for months to get vaccinated. Some have tried signing up during other phases and tiers, but have been unable to find available appointments. I have tried to get the vaccine for a while now. I tried signing up through, like, Hy-Vee and other events, but usually appointment times were already taken, so I couldn t really get on a waitlist or anything, said MU student Morgan Meyer.
The wait is now over as more vaccination events open up for the general public to attend.
7 p.m.: CPS reports no staff members positive for COVID-19.
The Columbia Public Schools 14-day case rate per 10,000 people is at 9.9.
The updated CPS student tracker shows 33 students in the district currently in quarantine and 6 active student cases.
To break the student cases down:
Elementary schools: 17 quarantined, 1 positive cases, 10 out of 21 schools affected
Middle schools: 9 quarantined, 2 positive case, 5 out of 7 schools affected
High schools: 6 quarantined, 3 positive cases, 3 out of 4 schools affected
Other: 1 quarantined
The district has seen 2,737 quarantined student cases and 644 positive student cases since June 2020.
The updated CPS staff tracker also shows 5 staff members currently in quarantine and no active staff cases. 1 staff member is out due to EFMLA laws.
