LISBON The number of new coronavirus cases continues to drop as more and more county residents are getting their vaccines. About 660 people were expected to get their dose of the vaccine at the Columbiana County Vaccination Complex on Friday.
There were 76 new cases of COVID-19 reported by the Ohio Department of Health since last Friday, March 5. That is down from the 89 new cases from a week before. There have now been 8,240 total cases since the beginning of the pandemic.
At the same time those being vaccinated continues to grow and the number of places where vaccines are available has increased. Laura Fauss, the public information officer at the county health department, said Rite Aid in six towns in the county now have the vaccines available. Columbiana, East Palestine, Wellsville, Salem, East Liverpool and Lisbon have been added to the list. Schedule an appointment with them at www.riteaid.com.
