Man arrested after Oregon woman found dead near Flagstaff
An Oregon woman was found dead after being reported missing in the Flagstaff area and a man who traveled with her was arrested this week.
The Coconino County Sheriff’s Office got information from the Milwaukie Police Department in Oregon on Tuesday of a possible missing and endangered woman, according to a statement released Wednesday by the Sheriff s Office.
The woman, identified as 38-year-old Melisa Rose Wheeler of Oregon, was traveling with Benjamin Mota of Oregon on vacation, the statement said.
Deputies responding to the area contacted campers and handed out flyers of the couple, the statement said.

FLAGSTAFF, AZ â A 38-year-old woman from Oregon who was considered to be possibly missing and endangered was found dead in northern Arizona, and a man has been arrested in connection to her death, the Coconino County Sheriff s Office (CCSO) said Wednesday.
In a news release, CCSO identified the woman as Melisa Rose Wheeler, a resident of Oregon.
CCSO said it received information on Tuesday from the Milwaukie Police Department, an area southeast of Portland, Oregon, that Wheeler and a man, later identified as Benjamin Mota, may have been vacationing in the Flagstaff area.
