Four injured resisting mugging attempts Karachi April 23, 2021 Five people were wounded in separate firing incidents in parts of the city on Thursday. According to the Korangi Industrial Area police, 50-year-old Sarfaraz, son of Noor, was wounded in a firing incident near Chamra Chowrangi in Korangi over offering resistance during a mugging bid. He was taken to Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre for medical treatment. Separately, 25-year-old Zia was wounded for putting up resistance during a mugging bid in Gulshan-e-Iqbal near Paradise Bakery, the Mobina Town police said. The injured was taken to a private hospital for medical treatment. In another mugging bid, Zabiullah was wounded on the Northern Bypass, the Gulshan-e-Maymar police said. Meanwhile, 25-year-old Fahim was shot and injured over offering resistance during a mugging bid in Federal B Area within the remits of the Samanabad police station. The injured was taken to Abbasi Shaheed Hospital (ASH).

Speedy truck knocks motorcyclist dead in Korangi Karachi April 23, 2021 A man died and another was wounded when a speedy truck hit their motorcycle near Chamra Chowrangi within the jurisdiction of the Korangi Industrial Area police station. Following the horror smash, police and ambulances attended the scene and transported the casualties to Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre where the deceased person was identified as 38-year-old Wahab, son of Rasheed, while the injured man as Atiqur Rehman, 25. Separately, three people were wounded after a car overturned due to speeding near the Drigh Road area. The casualties were taken to hospital for medical treatment. Meanwhile, an unknown man was electrocuted to death in Nazimabad. The casualty was taken to Abbasi Shaheed Hospital. The man could not be identified immediately.

Police claim recovering seven stolen bikes PHOTO: FILE KARACHI: The Anti-Vehicle Lifting Cell (AVLC) of Karachi police on Tuesday claimed to have arrested seven people on charges of motorcycle theft and allegedly recovered seven stolen motorcycles from them. According to a police statement, the suspects were habitual criminals and wanted to police in various cases of motorcycle lifting, the news release said. The suspects were identified as Rana Niaz Foji, Ashiq Ali, Tahir, Danish, Ali Haider Abro, and Ali Anwar. Among the suspects, police claimed that Ashiq Ali allegedly bought stolen motorcycles and sold them in Sujawal and other towns near Karachi without documents.
