There will be a detour by the Coleman Elementary School in St. Joseph due to a road closure for a water pipe replacement project starting next week.
Missouri American Water Spokeswomen Christie Barnhart says they are replacing pipe that dates back to 1954.
“We are going to be working around the area of Coleman Elementary School, so there will be some traffic rerouted due to this project,” Barnhart tells St. Joseph Post.
Barnhart says the project will start May 11th and will be finished in six weeks.
“Of course, that is weather permitting we’ve had quite a bit of rain lately,” says Barnhart. “Hopefully we’ll get some sunshine throughout this one and we can meet that deadline with in the six-week time frame.”
