Panaji (Goa) [India], May 15 (ANI): Governor Bhagat Singh Koshyari on Friday held a meeting with Goa Chief Minister Pramod Sawant and Health Minister Vishwajeet Rane, via video conferencing and reviewed the COVID-19 situation in state.
The Governor enquired about vaccination planning, oxygen supply, awareness, testing, involvement of university students and volunteers and other relevant issues, the official release said.Koshyari is also governor of Maharashtra.
On May 11, state Health Minister Vishwajit Rane had informed that 26 patients admitted to the state-run Goa Medical College and Hospital had died due to lack of oxygen. However, more deaths were reported on the subsequent days.

As many as 26 Covid-19 patients lost their lives while receiving treatment at Goa Medical College and Hospital (GMCH) during the wee hours of Tuesday, state health minister Vishwajit Rane said.
While the cause of deaths is not clear, earlier today, Goa Chief Minister Pramod Sawant hinted that disrupted oxygen supply in the facility might be one of reasons behind the fatalities.

Goa Health Minister Vishwajit Rane today said 26 COVID-19 patients died at the state-run Goa Medical College and Hospital (GMCH) in the early hours and sought an investigation by the High Court to find out the exact cause.
He said these fatalities occurred between 2 am and 6 am which is a fact , but remained evasive about the cause.
Goa Chief Minister Pramod Sawant, who visited the Goa Medical College and Hospital, said the gap between the availability of medical oxygen and its supply to COVID-19 wards in the GMCH might have caused some issues for the patients even as he stressed that there is no scarcity of oxygen supply in the state.

Goa Health Minister Vishwajit Rane has sought an investigation into the unfortunate deaths of 26 COVID-19 patients at the state-run Goa Medical College and Hospital (GMCH) in the early hours of Tuesday. Rane has sought an investigation by the High Court to find out the exact cause of the deaths.
According to the Health Minister, the fatalities occurred between 2 am and 6 am on Tuesday. However, the cause of the incident remains unknown.
