KP PA standing body on energy meets Peshawar May 6, 2021 PESHAWAR: A meeting of the Standing Committee of KP Assembly on Energy and Power Department was held at KP Assembly Secretariat here on Wednesday, with MPA Laiq Muhammad Khan in the chair. MPAs Fahim Ahmad, Muhammad Shafiq, Shah Dad Khan, Mian Nisar Gul, Waqar Ahmad Khan, Khushdil Khan, Humaira Khatoon, concerned high ups of the E&P, Law and Finance departments and KP Assembly attended the meeting. On the occasion, the participants were briefed about functions and energy projects of the department and their various questions responded concerning small dams, solarisation of schools, offices and mosques completed under PEDO.

PAC asks audit authorities to focus on good governance National April 26, 2021 PESHAWAR: Public Accounts Committee (PAC) of the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Assembly has asked the audit and accounts authorities to focus on performance audit with the sole aim to ensure good governance and eradicate corruption from the public sector organisations. The committee, however, expressed satisfaction on the recovery ratios of the Food Department and especially lauded its steps for increasing supply of wheat in the nook and corner of the province as well as normalising its rate during the upcoming holy month of Ramadan. The observation was made during a meeting of the PAC on disposing audit paras on fiscal anomalies in Food Department. The meeting was chaired by MPA Muhammad Idrees at KP Assembly Secretariat in Peshawar. MPA Inayatullah, and high ups of the Food, Law, Finance, Accounts & Audit departments were also present.

Forest dept asked to deploy guards as per global standard National April 22, 2021 PESHAWAR: The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Assembly’s Standing Committee on Environment has asked the Forest department to ensure the deployment of forest guards as per global standards. The committee decided to visit forest areas all over the province and to review the forest and wildlife activities and see the achievements of the Environment department. The committee expressed concern over the performance of the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) for poor vigilance on chipboard factories in Hayatabad industrial estate to make Peshawar a pollution-free city. It was decided in the meeting of the Standing Committee on Environment in the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Assembly that was held at the Assembly Secretariat on Wednesday.
