Existing pharma zone facility is also being expanded to almost double the area for handling increased movements of vaccine and pharma shipments. It has also increased the capacities of all temperature zones viz. 15-25 degrees, 2-8 degrees and -20 degrees Celsius with the entire pharma zone equipped with temperature and humidity sensors with alarm alerts along with CCTV surveillance to check temperature excursions in real time, said an official spokesperson on Friday.

AAI to offload residual stake in Bangalore and Hyderabad airports

The Airports Authority of India (AAI) has decided to sell the 13 per cent stake it holds in Kempegowda International Airport Bengaluru (Bangalore International Airport, or BIAL) and GMR Hyderabad International Airport (GHIAL) to raise funds. The authority will soon appoint a transaction advisor to conduct a valuation of AAI’s stake in the two airports in which Prem Watsa-owned Fairfax Group and Delhi-based GMR Infrastructure (GMR Infra) hold the largest stake. According to the shareholding agreement, the largest shareholders have the first right of refusal on the stake. Industry executives and analysts tracking the two firms said while Fairfax is a clear favourite to buy AAI’s stake, for GMR Infra which has a consolidated debt of over Rs 25,000 crore and is selling assets itself it may be challenging to buy the stake if the price is high.

GoAir also started the touch-less e-boarding facility for international passengers with this service GMR Hyderabad International Airport has launched GoAir’s maiden direct flight service from Hyderabad to Malé, Maldives. The GoAir aircraft took off from Hyderabad to Malé around 11.40 am amidst much fanfare and a festive atmosphere at the airport. GoAir also started the touch-less e-boarding facility for international passengers with this service. Senior officials from GMR Hyderabad International Airport along with GoAir officials, other airport stakeholders were at the terminal to see off the passengers and crew. GoAir’s Flight G8 1533 will depart from Hyderabad Airport at 11.30 AM and arrive at the Maldive’s Velana International Airport at 1.30 PM.
