Federal regulators are considering whether to approve Pfizer COVID-19 vaccine for use in kids age 12-15.

If federal regulators approve the Pfizer vaccine for use in children age 12-15, local health officials say it will be a big step in increasing overall COVID-19 vaccination levels in Wisconsin.
That’s because 21% of the state’s population is under age 18, and vaccines are being tested in children as young as 6 months.
So far 37% of the state is fully vaccinated against COVID-19. While better than the nation, it’s nowhere near levels that might be needed for herd immunity, which are upwards of 70% of the population.

More clinics will be offered
According to the Ohio Department of Health s website, as of Wednesday, 13,327 Crawford County residents or 32.12% had received at least one dose. Statewide, 40.7% of residents meet that standard.
Siefert said she plans to continue to offer clinics, and plans to announce another one soon. We want to try to figure out the easiest places, the most convenient times, she said. What are the barriers? And try to help people with that. And if they don t understand how the vaccine works, we re always happy to answer those questions.
