Health officials in Brookline and Salem said Sunday they are continuing to require masks outdoors, even after the US Centers for Disease Control cleared the way last week for fully vaccinated people to forgo them outside when they can socially distance.

Theft on Commonwealth Avenue: At 11:15 a.m., a staff member at an Amazon Hub reported seeing a man leaving the loading dock with a box of items. Police took a report.
Assault on South Street: At 12:14 p.m., staff at Bournewood Hospital told police one patient assaulted another. The patients had since been separated.
Assault on Kent Street: At 12:42 p.m., a caller told police an unknown woman shoved her as they were passing each other on the sidewalk. Police took a report.
Suspicious person at Griggs Park: At 2 p.m., a man reportedly passed by two women at Griggs Park and mentioned that he has many restraining orders and would hurt a woman. The man also allegedly said, “No wonder Boston got bombed.”
