Morton fans group agree deal to take over club and Cappielow with no debt

A MORTON fans investment group has struck a new deal to take over the club - with Cappielow changing hands and all the holding company debt written off. Morton Club Together has tonight presented its members with a new proposal agreed with Rae family firm Golden Casket, which is set to see the club change hands this summer. The package will be voted on by members and it is expected to pass. Supporters had expressed concerns over the initial options that had been tabled last year - and MCT and Golden Casket subsequently held successful talks to hammer out a new and improved agreement.

The European Super League is Super Hated - Sounder At Heart

You are going to read a lot of things on why the Super League is a bad idea and why everyone hates it and it tears apart the fabric of the sport itself. All of those are correct. But please, for a minute, consider this financial appeal from a BBC Business editor. European Super League plans could make clubs more valuable, but risk alienating fans and players. However, news from medical staff has been positive and the 24-year-old could still feature for the Dark Blues in their play-off promotion push. It remains unclear how long it will take to clear up, however, with the club assessing the injury over the weekend.

EXCLUSIVE: Dundee midfield maestro Shaun Byrne and the frustration of being left on the bench © Shutterstock Feed Shaun Byrne has been one of Dundee’s most consistent performers in a Championship campaign littered with inconsistency. However, in recent weeks he has found himself on the bench watching on as the Dark Blues picked up a run of results. His start against Dunfermline on Tuesday night was his first in the league since a 2-2 draw at Greenock Morton at the end of February.
