A man who was given his accident compensation in 2017 is yet to receive his money, which was deposited into the trust account of the lawyer he had hired.
Mohammed Sharif, 67, walks with a crutch and has had iron rods placed in his limbs after a road accident in 2010.
After making checks with the insurance company he found out in 2019, that he had been awarded $120,000 as compensation and the money was paid out to his Nasinu lawyer’s trust account.

The House of Representatives, on resumption from the Easter recess, is expected to commence debate on the general principle of a bill that seeks to establish an Election Criminal Tribunal in the country.
The bill which was sponsored by Hon Abubakar Makki Yalleman, when established, will be saddled with the responsibility of handling Election Criminal cases and judiciously dispose-off same while punishing offenders properly.

ISLAMABAD: The government on Thursday made a formal offer to the opposition on the floor of the National Assembly for constitution of a parliamentary committee on electoral reforms.
Minister of State for Parliamentary Affairs Ali Muhammad Khan moved a motion in the House, authorizing the speaker to constitute a parliamentary committee on electoral reforms comprising members from both government and opposition benches.
The members from the main opposition parties, including the PML-N and the PPP immediately opposed the move as they said the opposition parties have not been consulted on the issue. PML-N parliamentarian Khurram Dastgir said the objective is to take on rigging in polls at the state level and the opposition be consulted before initiating any move.
