The Council for the Development of Cambodia (CDC) has approved a cumulative 144 Japanese investment projects worth $2.79 billion since its inception in 1994, 66 of which are in special economic zones (SEZ) with $340 million in capital investment, it said in a press release.
The release was issued following the 21st Public-Private Sector Meeting of the Cambodia-Japan Joint Committee held at the CDC on February 11 evening.

Three solar farms to add 120MW in 2021

Three solar farms with a total 120MW of installed capacities are on track to be connected to the national grid by this year’s end, to help keep pace with growing demand and slash electricity prices, according to a senior official at the Ministry of Mines and Energy.
Victor Jona, the director-general of the ministry’s General Department of Energy listed the projects as a 60MW solar farm in Battambang province, a 30MW project in Pursat province and another 30MW facility in Banteay Meanchey province.

The Japanese embassy in Phnom Penh, the Japan External Trade Organisation (JETRO) and the Cambodia Chamber of Commerce (CCC) on February 3 jointly launched the first edition of Japanese products showcase “Good Goods Japan 2021” in the Kingdom.
JETRO Phnom Penh Office chief representative Marisa Haruta said “Good Goods Japan” provides an online business-matching platform and introduces the world to Japanese products in fields such as cosmetics, kitchen appliances, as well as baby and children’s essentials.
