WATERTOWN, N.Y. (WWNY) - Just because youâre done with COVID-19, it doesnât mean COVID-19 is done with you.
There are increasing reports of âlong haulâ COVID, symptoms which linger long after the virus is apparently gone.
Long haul COVID appears to particularly affect people under the age of 50.
Having it increases your chance of death up to six months after infection.
âEven if you get mild COVID, just a head cold, not worried about it, it still increases the risk of having these serious things happen,â said Dr. Joseph Wetterhahn, Medical Director of Samaritan Family Health Network.

WATERTOWN, N.Y. (WWNY) - There were fears a COVID-19 and influenza âtwindemicâ would happen over the fall and winter, but it didnât.
During the 2019-2020 flu season, the state Department of Health said there were more than 4,000 confirmed flu cases in Jefferson, Lewis and St. Lawrence counties.
Then we were hit with the COVID pandemic and this yearâs flu season has added up to fewer than 200 cases. Thatâs a 96 percent drop from the year before.
