(WWNY) - There were fears a COVID-19 and influenza ‘twindemic’ would happen over the fall and winter, but it didn’t. During the 2019-2020 flu season, the state Department of Health said there were more than 4,000 confirmed flu cases in Jefferson, Lewis and St. Lawrence counties. Then we were hit with the COVID pandemic and this year’s flu season has added up to fewer than 200 cases. That’s a 96 percent drop from the year before.
