In this week alone data was taken from a sample of 2,900 customers in North Herefordshire. It showed that overall spending across all sectors of the economy was up 65.5 per cent compared to a normal pre-lockdown Monday Spending in barbers was up 341.5 per cent. Pub spending was at 95.5 per cent of normal levels, despite their only being able to operate at reduced capacity.

The package includes a £10m boost to the Social Care Grant, which now stands at £50m, in recognition of the significant impact the pandemic has had on the sector.
