Residents and businesses have until Thursday, March 25, to participate in the Haverhill Exchange Club’s Hometown Heroes banner program. The program calls for hanging 24- by 48-inch banners in downtown Haverhill, honoring veterans, active duty, reserve and National Guard members. Banners will be displayed from Memorial Day through Veterans Day and may features family of business name acknowledgements. Following the event, banners may be kept as a keepsake.

Hylton Performing Arts Center Community Spotlight Winners Photo: Hylton Performing Arts The Hylton Performing Arts Center announced the official winners of the 2021 Community Arts Spotlight Series. This past December, the Hylton Center introduced the Hylton at Home Community Arts Spotlight, a new initiative that showcases extraordinary artistic talent within the Prince William County cultural community. Applications were open to all members of the Prince William County Arts Council and four artists or ensembles were selected to be featured in digital presentations as part of Hylton at Home, the Hylton Center’s digital programming platform. The initiative was received with enthusiasm by artists and ensembles across the county and submissions were reviewed by a programming committee comprising Hylton Center executive leadership and community members.

Gloucester couple delivering Meals on Wheels for about 30 years – Gazette Journal

The couple delivers 35-40 meals to seven to eight clients every Monday. Community Spotlight: In this series, the Gazette-Journal shines the light on residents who are working to make this a better place. John and Laura Northstein of Gloucester have been volunteering for Meals on Wheels in Gloucester for about 30 years each. John said that he began volunteering shortly after he retired in 1989 from teaching various science courses in public schools. Laura began volunteering with John a couple of years later after she retired as a public health nurse.

Participants have an opportunity to learn more about exciting opportunities at Penacook Place and Haverhill Pavilion and speak with local representatives in a COVID-19 safe environment. Available full- and part-time jobs include healthcare, dietary aide, cooks and housekeepers. In addition, free certified nursing assistant training is available for eligible applicants.
