(Cook County Sheriff s Office) UPDATE: The teen has been located and is safe, according to a press release on Feb. 17 from Cook County Sheriff Thomas Dart. UNINCORPORATED MAINE TOWNSHIP, IL A local teenager has been missing since Friday according to Cook County Sheriff Thomas J. Dart. Kianna Smith, 19, was last seen leaving her residence, the Harbour House Group Home in Unincorporated Maine Township, at around 5:15 p.m. Friday. She did not return for curfew later that night. Smith is described as 5-foot-7, weighing around 150 pounds, with black hair, brown eyes, medium complexion and a tattoo on her left forearm.

Outdoornews February 4, 2021 District 1 – Baudette area CO Demosthenes Regas (Blackduck) reports working trapping, snowmobiling, and angling activity this past week. Time was spent patrolling area trails, assisting Bemidji DNR Wildlife with the bobcat/fur registration and conducting follow-up investigation of ongoing trapping cases. Regas also handled two separate incidents of incidental catches of wolves in trappers’ coyote sets.  CO Marc Johnson (Warroad) assisted with furbearer registration and worked angling activity on Lake of the Woods and at the Northwest Angle. Violations encountered included fishing with extra lines, taking fish with no angling license, no permanent shelter tag/identification, and no angling license in possession.

Ice fishing on area lakes remains slow, but people still are finding it better than sitting at home. The last fur registration took place with few trappers registering bobcats and otters. It appears more bobcats were registered this year than other years. CO Curtis Simonson (International Falls 2) reports spending time checking anglers on Rainy Lake and the Rainy River. Anglers reported fishing being very slow.

Oak Lawn mayor blames Cook County State s Attorney Kim Foxx for Chicago crash that killed 12-year-old girl

CHICAGO (WLS) The mayor of Oak Lawn is blaming Cook County State s Attorney Kim Foxx after a 12-year-old girl was killed in a crash by a driver who was out on bond. A 27-year-old man is now facing charges in the suspected drunk driving crash in the Garfield Ridge neighborhood on the Southwest Side that killed the young girl and injured several others. Dr. Sandra Bury, mayor of Oak Lawn, says the fault lies with Foxx. Foxx s office said decisions about bond are up to judges. Cire Robinson s grieving family is caught in the middle, wanting justice and answers.

(NorthShore Updates) CHICAGO Federal prosecutors charged a Lake County man over a carjacking attempt last summer at a Glencoe golf course. Zayveon Thomas, 19, of Beach Park, has been awaiting trial on state charges at Cook County Jail since shortly after his July 2 arrest in the Cook County Forest Preserve District property near the Glencoe Golf Club. That morning, Thomas and two other unidentified men parked a stolen car near the club and walked up to a senior citizen as she unloaded golfing gear from her car, police and prosecutors said at the time.
