Gold Coast beaches open after three drownings but swimmers are warned

Gold Coast beaches will reopen on Monday after three people drowned in the past week and dangerous surf led to several near-drownings.
Council lifeguards closed the beaches from Burleigh to the Gold Coast Seaway on Friday because of the dangerous conditions, urging people to stay away from the waves after dark.
Passers-by found the body of a woman in her late 20s washed up on Kurrawa Beach at Broadbeach about 10.15pm on Thursday, and a British gym instructor was pulled lifeless from the water on Friday night.
