The World Health Organization (WHO) has an unwavering commitment to reducing the social burden of foodborne illness on global health. Building on the World Health Assembly Resolution WHA53.15 (May 2000), WHO published its Global Strategy for Food Safety: safer food for better health, which was endorsed by the Executive Board in 2002.
