The victim was kneed in the face before being kicked as she lay on the floor - and was so upset by the incident that she moved house. Her assailant, Jade Ralph, also assaulted a police officer who arrested her, Southampton Crown Court was told. Kirsty Day, prosecuting, said the incidents occurred in May last year. After arriving at the other woman’s home the defendant grabbed her hair, kneed her in the face and kicked her on the floor as she tried to protect herself, the court heard.

Gomm was one of two men seen shooting down at shoppers. Another witness had the gun pointed at her, and ran to a nearby restaurant to hide before phoning the police. “She thought [the guns] were real,” prosecutor Simon Gledhill said. The court heard that the same witness saw that Gomm, 19 of Foundry Lane, “appeared to be enjoying causing fear” to those in panic below, along with another man who was also shooting pellets from the same weapon at shoppers. Defending Jamie Gammon confirmed that the second man, 22-year-old Aaron Vas of Derby Road, had fled to India since being charged last September. A warrant is still outstanding for his arrest.

Kieron Gomm took to the Above Bar Street roofs on August 29 last year with the scoped weapon, and, along with another man, began shooting pellets at helpless visitors below. Southampton Crown Court heard that Gomm’s actions on that Saturday afternoon had caused panic on the busy streets, with one witness saying that he “feared people may be killed”. Now, following his 14-month jail term sentence, Detective Constable Ross Rolph from the Southampton Investigation team, has thanked both offices and the public for helping to bring him to justice.

Southampton man jailed for biting police officer

The 27-year-old broke through his trousers and skin leaving him with a blood blister. The officer needed hospital treatment and was left worried about contracting life-changing diseases from Varano of Langhorn Road, Southampton. Prosecution barrister, Rose Burns, told the court how police had been called to the defendant’s parental home following reports he had assaulted his mother. However, when officers arrived, he became aggressive and threatened them. While in the back of the police van he spat repeatedly even landing saliva on one of the officers. Appearing before Southampton Crown Court, he was charged with two counts of assaulting an emergency worker and a single count of criminal damage to which he previously pleaded guilty.

Stalker jailed after hurling petrol bombs at Southampton house

1/1 A “JEALOUS and bitter” man launched petrol bombs at a Southampton home as part of an ongoing stalking campaign, a court heard. Ashley Pankewycz hurled three petrol bombs at a house in Millbrook Road East. When one of them didn’t explode, he picked it up and threw it again at the property belonging to a friend of his ex-partner. Judge Christopher Parker QC told in the Spring of last year the 30-year-old “began a comparatively short-lived relationship” with his victim. He added: “That relationship broke down in mid-June, by then you were already displaying some signs of jealous and controlling behaviour.”
