Totton woman appears in court after assaulting emergency workers

A TOTTON woman has been handed a community order after she assaulted two emergency workers. Jade Brooke Cotton, 30, assaulted a detention officer and a police constable in Southampton on December 27 last year. Appearing at Southampton Magistrates Court she pleaded guilty to two counts of assaulting an emergency worker by beating. Cotton, of Parkside, Totton, was handed a community order and fined £300. She was also ordered to pay court costs of £200. Lymington High Street. A MAN has received a driving ban after he was caught behind the wheel at double the alcohol limit in a New Forest town centre. Tadas Poskus, 34, had 70 micrograms of alcohol in 100 millilitres of breath when he was driving a BMW in High Street, Lymington, on June 12. The legal limit is 35 micrograms of alcohol in 100 millilitres of breath. Poskus, of Solent Close, Lymington, pleaded guilty to charges of drink driving and driving without a licence when he appeared at Southampton Magistrates Court on Friday, July 9. The defendant was fined £200, ordered to pay a £34 surcharge and disqualified from holding or obtaining a driving licence for 20 months.

Motorcyclist seriously injured by man making U-turn on Southampton road

George Black stopped his Toyota RAV4 in Windermere Avenue, Southampton to make a U-turn, a court heard. However, the 61-year-old of Cuckmere Lane failed to spot a motorcyclist coming up behind him. The rider was left with serious injuries following the crash on July 24 last year. Black was found guilty of driving without due care and attention. Appearing at Southampton Magistrates Court he was fined £280 and disqualified for 12 months. He must pay £300 compensation, £620 court costs and a £37 victim surcharge.
