Saskatchewan’s top doctor says COVID-19 vaccines are already blunting the severity of the disease.
Data from the province’s health ministry say only 263 of the 309,276 people who received a vaccine on or before April 17 had tested positive for COVID-19 as of May 8, a small fraction of the 5,091 cases identified in the province over the same time period.

“I think this is quite remarkable, actually, that with just one dose the vaccine is protecting us so well,” chief medical health officer Dr. Saqib Shahab said.
