Updated: 8:16 AM PDT May 6, 2021 KCRA Staff The Sacramento County Sheriff s Office is investigating a late-night shooting that left a man dead. Just before 11 p.m. Wednesday, the sheriff s office said it received a call about someone who had collapsed and appeared to be bleeding near the 4800 block of Amber Lane and College Oak Drive, which is near American River College. When deputies got to the area they found a man who had been shot at least once. The Sacramento Metropolitan Fire District pronounced him dead at the scene, according to the sheriff s office.Investigators have interviewed witnesses and gathered evidence, but no suspect information is currently available. The Sacramento County Coroner s Office will release the man s identity after his next of kin are notified.
