Santa Clarita Attempted Murder Suspect Pleads Not Guilty After Stabbing Brother, Sister-In-Law
A Santa Clarita attempted murder suspect returned to court Thursday and pled not guilty after an attack last November which left his sister-in-law partially paralyzed.
On Thursday, Guadalupe Albarran, 27, pled not guilty to attempted murder, assault with a deadly weapon and violating a restraining order, said Ricardo Santiago, spokesperson for the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office.
Around 1:40 a.m. Sunday, Nov. 22, 2020, deputies responded to reports of an assault with a deadly weapon involving a knife on the 24100 block of Arch Street in Newhall, said Deputy Natalie Arriaga, spokesperson for the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station at the time of the incident.
Several Suspects Detained In Santa Clarita Following Assault With A Deadly Weapon Report
Several suspects were detained in Santa Clarita following an assault with a deadly weapon report Thursday afternoon, officials said.
Around 4 p.m. Thursday, Sheriff’s officials received reports of an assault with a deadly weapon involving a firearm near Canyon Crest Drive and Whites Canyon Road just north of Todd Longshore Park in Canyon Country, according to LT. Jonathan Hoyt with the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s station.
“The suspect pointed a gun at someone,” Hoyt said.
The suspects fled the scene to a house on the 28000 block of Foxlane Drive in Canyon Country, according to Sheriff’s officials.
Petty Theft Suspect Taken Into Custody At Gunpoint In Santa Clarita
A petty theft suspect was taken into custody at gunpoint Thursday, near Hart High School after he allegedly stole an individual’s property in Santa Clarita.
Around 11:15 a.m. Thursday, deputies received reports of a petty theft at a business on Newhall Avenue near 14th Street in Newhall near Hart High School, said Deputy Natalie Arriaga, spokesperson for the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station.
“A male adult took property from the victim while inside a business,” Arriaga said.
Witnesses identified the suspect and assisted deputies in locating him, according to Arriaga.
Santa Clarita Sheriff’s Station To Host Several Free Catalytic Converter Etchings In May
For the third month in a row, the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station (SCV Sheriff) is offering catalytic converter etchings to help curb catalytic converter thefts in the valley.
This month, the SCV Sheriff etching events are set to take place on Tuesday, May 11,18 and 25, Wednesday, May 26 and Thursday, May 27 with Reeves Complete Auto Center and Canyon Muffler in Canyon Country as well as RG Brake and Alignment in Valencia and can be accessed by appointment only.
“The problem is that when a catalytic converter is stolen and we catch a thief or a suspect with catalytic converters, it’s very difficult to tell where the catalytic converter came from,” said SCV Sheriff Captain Justin Diez at the first etching event in March. “We figured if we can engrave the actual license plate in the catalytic converter, once the catalytic converter is recovered, we can identify the victim and
The Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station is once again hosting its monthly free catalytic converter etching event, adding more dates and locations to have a converter etched.
Etchings can be received on May 11, 18, 25, 26 and 27, through Reeves Complete Auto Center and Canyon Muffler in Canyon Country, and RG Brake & Alignment in Valencia.
Deputies promote #GuardThatAuto by getting a vehicle’s license plate etched onto its’ catalytic converter. Doing so helps deputies locate its original owner in the event it is stolen and recovered.
