The Los Angeles County Development Authority has announced that the Small Business Stabilization Loan Program will accept applications through April 16 or until it hits $20 million in funding requests, whichever occurs first.
Launched on January 28, 2021, the Small Business Stabilization Loan Program provides eligible businesses with a competitive interest rate for loans ranging from $50,000 to $3 million.
Businesses interested in applying for the Program must have been in operation for at least two years and seeking working capital, equipment purchases, real estate acquisition, or refinancing of existing loans at higher interest rates. As of March, the LACDA has received over $14 million in funding requests.
Valencia Pursuit Of Burglary Suspects Ends In Injury Crash
A Valencia pursuit involving burglary suspects ended Thursday afternoon in a crash, sending at least one person to the hospital.
Around 2:10 p.m. Thursday, deputies located a vehicle matching the description of a wanted burglary suspect near McBean Parkway and Grandview Drive in Valencia, said Natalie Arriaga, spokesperson for the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station.
When the deputy attempted to make a traffic stop on the vehicle, it fled and a pursuit was initiated, according to Sheriff’s officials.
The pursuit reached speeds of 45 mph and ended in a crash on McBean Parkway near Newhall Ranch Road, Arriaga said.
Crowdfund Campaign Started For Former Santa Clarita Detective With Stage 4 Cancer
Detective Joshua Dubin, formerly of the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station, has been diagnosed with Stage 4 Non-Hodgkin’s Lymphoma, and his sister has begun crowdfunding for his treatment.
In October 2020, Dubin was diagnosed with Stage 4 Non-Hodgkin’s Lymphoma, which has since spread, according to crowdfund organizer and sister, Ashley Lovingfoss.
“In September 2020, Josh began having some symptoms,” Lovingfoss wrote. “Josh continued working however, filling in where he was needed. Not only working his normal detective job, but working in the court system, around inmates, and out in the field dealing with the civil unrest in Los Angeles.”
Valencia Carjacking Suspect In Custody After Assaulting Victim, Leading Deputies In Pursuit
A Valencia carjacking suspect was taken into custody Monday evening after he allegedly physically assaulted an individual and led deputies on a brief pursuit.
Around 10:15 p.m. Monday, deputies responded to a business on the 27600 block of Newhall Ranch Road in Valencia regarding a carjacking, said Deputy Natalie Arriaga, spokesperson for the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station.
“Upon arrival, deputies learned as the victim was seated in his vehicle parked in front of the location, a male adult opened the door to his vehicle and began physically assaulting him,” Arriaga said.
