The employee reportedly suffered moderate injuries, and was transported to the hospital after being “struck in the head and knocked unconscious,” according to Lt. Ethan Marquez with the Santa Clarita Sheriff’s Station.
When deputies arrived on the scene, the three suspects reportedly drove away and were apprehended on the 5 Freeway shortly after.
A handgun was found during a search of the vehicle as well, according to officials on scene.
The 21-year-old son has been arrested for assault with a deadly weapon and felony vandalism, while his mother was arrested for acting/abetting, and the juvenile was detained for vandalism.
After he was unable to gain access to the vehicle, Jenkins then allegedly attempted to take her purse, according to officials on scene.
“The suspect attempted to forcefully take the victim’s property from her possession,” Arriaga said. “A brief struggle ensued, however the victim was able to run away from the suspect.”
Jenkins then reportedly boarded the bus following the encounter with the woman.
“(He) actually entered the bus, assaulted the driver and attempted to carjack him,” said Captain Justin Diez, for the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station at the time of the crime.
After Jenkins exited the bus, he was arrested and charged with felony counts of carjacking, attempt carjacking, attempted robbery and a misdemeanor charge of public intoxication, Arriaga added.
Officials with the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station’s Traffic Office are now asking for the public’s help as they conduct their investigation into the collision.
“If you were in the area around the time the collision occurred, and have dashcam footage available, please contact the Santa Clarita Sheriff Station at 661-255-1121 and ask to speak with our traffic office,” Arriaga wrote. “We appreciate all help as our traffic office conducts an investigation.”
The condition of the civilian involved in the collision was not immediately known as of Tuesday afternoon.

Canyon Country Man Arrested After Sexually Assaulting 80-Year-Old Woman
A Canyon Country man was taken into custody Tuesday after he was allegedly caught sexually assaulting an 80-year-old woman in December of 2020.
In December 2020, detectives from the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department Special Victims Bureau began investigating the circumstances involving the sexual assault of an 80 year-old woman at her residence in Canyon Country, said Sgt. Brian Hudson, a spokesperson for the bureau.
“The victim’s husband returned to find the suspect, an acquaintance, sexually assaulting the victim in her bedroom,” Hudson said.
The victim’s husband interrupted the assault, at which point the suspect fled from the residence, according to Hudson.
The exact circumstances leading up to the incident are still under investigation.
Deputies were investigating the area as of 9:45 p.m. Sunday.
