The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention released guidance Thursday indicating that people who are fully vaccinated against COVID-19 can safely resume activities that were done prior to the pandemic. L.A. County and the state will review the recommendations in order to make sensible adjustments. In the interim, please note that fully vaccinated people do not need to wear a mask when indoors around other fully vaccinated people, or outside in uncrowded areas. When at businesses and in crowded venues, both indoors and outdoors, masks are still required to be worn by everyone.
A total of 277 single-family homes changed owners during April in the Santa Clarita Valley as the tight inventory rose to its highest level in five months, though remained well below year-ago totals, the Southland Regional Association of Realtors reported Thursday.
The 277 sales were 66.9% higher than a year ago as the local, state, and national residential real estate markets struggled with the full impact of pandemic-related stay-at-home orders and business shutdowns.
Realtors also assisted the close of escrow of 96 condominiums, an increase of 54.8% from a year ago, though down 13.5% from this March.

Today, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, CDC, affirmed the recommendation by the U.S. Food & Drug Administration, FDA, to expand the emergency use authorization for the Pfizer COVID-19 vaccine for adolescents 12 to 15 years of age.
Starting tomorrow, Los Angeles County vaccination providers may begin offering the Pfizer vaccine for 12 to 15-year-olds at vaccination sites that offer the Pfizer vaccine. All eight county run sites will be open tomorrow and able to vaccinate children 12-17; teens should be accompanied by a parent, guardian or responsible adult, and present a photo ID and verification of age. Santa Clarita Girl Scout Troop To Host Fundraiser For Dorsey Family Boys
Santa Clarita Girl Scout Troop 70842 has put together a fundraiser Saturday for the children of murder victim Michelle Dorsey.
The fundraiser is scheduled for Saturday, May 15 from 10 a.m. to 9:30 p.m. at Firehouse Subs in Valencia, said Julie Fick, the mom of one of the Girl Scouts.
“(The troop) would like to invite everyone to come out to help support the family and the three boys,” Fick said in a Facebook post.
The troop is set to collect monetary donations such as cash, Venmo or PayPal as well as gift cards for different Santa Clarita restaurants and department stores to provide essentials for the family.
