Lathrop man linked to Turlock and other robberies The Lathrop Police Services reported several pieces of evidence were discovered that links DeAndre Phillips to the string of robberies, including the revolver. Law enforcement in San Joaquin County have arrested a Lathrop man suspected for a string of armed robberies, including some in Turlock. DeAndre Phillips, 27, was arrested on suspicion of nine armed robberies at stores in Stockton, Manteca, Lathrop, French Camp, Tracy, and Turlock between Nov. 22 to Dec. 26, according to Lathrop Police Services, a division of the San Joaquin County Sheriff s Office. Phillips would allegedly enter the businesses and pull out a .357 Magnum revolver from a black duffel bag slung around his shoulder. Phillips is accused of holding the victims at gunpoint while demanding cash, alcohol and cigars.

Arrest made in shooting that killed Ripon man The man that police officers believe is responsible for a fatal early-morning shooting on Christmas Eve is now behind bars. Terry Mills, a 35-year-old Manteca man, was arrested on Monday for the shooting death of 47-year-old Ripon resident Robert Thompson shortly after 1 a.m. on Christmas Eve morning. According to the Manteca Police Department, Thompson was at a home on the 100 block of N. Walnut Ave. when he was shot. When officers arrived, they discovered Thompson suffering from a single gunshot wound and he was promptly transported to a local trauma center where he succumbed to his injuries.

And on Monday the crime spree – which the San Joaquin County Sheriff’s Office said “terrorized” communities during the one-month span – came to an end in Lathrop after Lathrop Police Services positively identified the 27-year-old and took him into custody.
