Two people rescued in Hesperia fire on Tuesday Firefighters rescued two people from a garage fire in Hesperia on Tuesday morning. Only identified in a statement as a man and woman, both were taken in critical condition to a local hospital where their conditions remained unknown. San Bernardino County firefighters responded shortly after 9:30 a.m. to a structure fire in the 16200 block of Orange Street. The first engine arrived within five minutes and found smoke coming from a “detached, single car garage,” authorities said. While extinguishing the fire, bystanders told firefighters that people might be inside the garage. “Crews made entry and quickly located two victims and rescued them from the structure,” County Fire Battalion Chief Mike McClintock said. “Arriving crews assisted with patient care and fire attack, knocking the fire down in 10 minutes.”
