A 46-year-old Victorville man arrested on suspicion of drug possession posted $50,000 bail and was released from custody late Sunday night.
San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department deputies arrested Henry Santos after a traffic stop near the intersection of Lacy and Center streets in Victorville.
Sheriff’s officials in a statement said that a deputy stopped a 2013 Kia with expired registration just after 2:30 p.m. and identified Santos as the driver.
During the stop, the deputy searched the Kia and allegedly found 60 grams of suspected methamphetamine, five grams of suspected heroin and a “large amount of cash.”
Santos was booked on suspicion of possession of a controlled substance/narcotics for sale at the High Desert Detention Center in Adelanto.
Detectives with the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department were conducting a murder and attempted murder investigation after a 33-year-old allegedly stabbed his father and stepmother at their Apple Valley home, officials said. The suspect and his stepmother were pronounced dead at the scene.

Barstow man accused of distributing child porn posts $25,000 bail

A 56-year-old Barstow man accused of possessing and distributing child pornography was released from custody after posting bail on Saturday.
Robert Lee Mortenson, arrested at his home in the 800 block of Cholla Drive on Friday, posted $25,000 bail and was released from the High Desert Detention Center in Adelanto fewer than 24 hours after his arrest, booking records show.
The San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department arrested Mortensen at approximately 4:16 p.m. after investigators from the department’s Crime Against Children, Hi-Tech and Special Enforcement details served a search warrant at his home.
A month-long, state-wide investigation into human sex trafficking resulted in the arrests of 62 suspects in San Bernardino County. The county’s Human Trafficking Task Force worked with 50 other federal, state, and local law enforcement agencies and 11 task forces to combat human trafficking. The task force conducted two to three operations per day, specifically in San Bernardino, Ontario, Rancho Cucamonga, Redlands, and Victorville. Investigators selected areas where there was a high volume of activity and advertisements directly related to commercial sex trafficking. Those arrested were charged with pimping, pandering, prostitution, loitering, and other crimes. Investigators identified and rescued 14 victims of sex trafficking, including one minor. Four firearms were seized.
