Possible Native American remains found at Atascadero home and last updated 2021-02-10 19:11:11-05 In a statement on Wednesday, Atascadero Police say the human remains found at a home under construction are likely Native American. The remains were discovered on Tuesday by the contractor working on the property of a home on Acacia Road. Police say they immediately got a hold of an anthropologist who said they were likely Native American human remains. Police add that other items were found along with the remains. APD says the case was turned over to the anthropologist and the Coroners Division of the San Luis Obispo County Sheriff s Office for further investigation.

According to a news release from the Paso Robles Police Department, dispatchers received a call at approximately 7:20 p.m. Friday from a woman who said her mother was being held at knifepoint against her will by her 40-year-old son, Charles Courtemanche, of Paso Robles. The woman told dispatchers she heard her mother in the background screaming for help and her brother, Charles, saying he was going to kill her and wanted police officers to kill him. The caller said she could no longer reach her mother or brother by cell phone, according to the news release.

Feb. 4 After the San Luis Obispo County Sheriff s Office caught and released a man suspected of trafficking a missing 15-year-old Nevada girl, the agency says it is now obtaining a warrant for his arrest. According to a news release Thursday, investigators from the San Luis Obispo County Counter Human Trafficking Team were answering online sex ads as part of the statewide effort to curb human sex trafficking under the umbrella of Operation Reclaim and Rebuild. According to the release, detectives answered an ad featuring a girl who appeared to be under the age of 18.

Fresno homicide suspects arrested in Avila Beach

Both Davon Tyriq Thomas (pictured above) and Emanuel Johnson (no photo available) were arrested for outstanding murder warrants in Fresno. –On Feb. 3, San Luis Obispo County Sheriff’s Office deputies responded to the 3200 block of Avila Beach Drive in Avila Beach for a domestic disturbance that was occurring in a parking lot at that location. Upon arrival, deputies conducted a record check of a vehicle associated with the subjects. The check revealed the vehicle was associated with two homicide suspects out of Fresno. The suspects were identified as 21-year-old Davon Thomas and 23-year-old Emanuel Johnson, both from Fresno. A law enforcement advisory warned that the suspects should be considered armed and dangerous.
