Driver was found to be under the influence of drugs and in ‘no condition to operate a motor vehicle safely’
–Authorities have arrested 51-year-old Marlinda Ann Croom of Atascadero on suspicion of drunk driving after she lost control of her vehicle on Monday while attempting to navigate a turn on El Camino Real in Santa Margarita and came crashing into a house.
A deputy from the San Luis Obispo County Sheriff’s Office was traveling northbound on El Camino Real from Santa Margarita when a white Dodge Durango Durango traveling in the opposite direction crossed into his lane. The deputy made a U-turn in order to catch up to the vehicle. The driver continued into Santa Margarita in the opposing lane and was unable to negotiate the curve at Highway 58 safely. –The San Luis Obispo County Sheriff’s Office is releasing new information regarding a child exploitation investigation. The investigation began on Sept. 25, 2020, when sheriff’s deputies were dispatched to a report of a suspected criminal act in Los Osos. It was learned that a minor resident of San Luis Obispo County was contacted on the internet via an online gaming platform and lewd images were sent to the victim.
An initial report was taken and ultimately forwarded to the San Luis Obispo County Counter Human Trafficking Team, a team comprised of investigators from the Sheriff’s Special Operations Unit and the District Attorney’s Office Bureau of Investigation, who assumed responsibility for the continuing investigation.
San Luis Obispo County Sheriff’s investigators say an Indiana man has been arrested for sending lewd images to a SLO County minor. According to a press release, the Sheriff’s Office received a report of lewd material being sent to a minor in Los Osos late last year over an online gaming platform. 20-year-old Jordan Fields of Columbus, Indiana was arrested last month following a six-month-long investigation. He’s facing several Federal charges related to the case.
