WORTHINGTON A Worthington woman is in police custody after being accused of assault.
Worthington police were dispatched to a local residence Saturday evening for a report of domestic abuse. Inside the apartment, officers observed a victim with a large amount of blood on their face and neck and down the front of their shirt. They also saw Laura Maldonado, 29, running water over a cut on her hand.
Maldonado and the victim were previously in a domestic relationship, but do not live together currently.
According to Maldonado, she had accidentally thrown a glass at the victim because the victim had threatened her and wouldn t let her leave the apartment. Other witnesses at the scene said Maldonado had smashed a wine glass over the victim s head and that the assault was unprovoked.
