Members of the Silver Creek and Hanover Garden Club have made a difference in the town and village.
SILVER CREEK Recent reported incidents of vandalism in the village has led to a call for action that seeks the input of residents.
On Monday, the village of Silver Creek and the Chautauqua County Sheriff’s Office have scheduled an informational town hall type meeting at 6 p.m. at the Village Ballpark at the Pavillion.
Chautauqua County Sheriff James Quattrone and members of the department, joined by members of the Village Board, will be on hand to listen to complaints on some recent incidents of criminal mischief, while creating a plan for solution. Village residents, landlords, and business owners are encouraged to attend the meeting, which will be held outdoors, while adhering to the social distancing guidelines given by the CDC.

Authorities on Monday found the wreckage of a small plane from North Carolina that crashed in western New York a day earlier, killing all three people aboard, the Chautauqua County Sheriff’s Office said. The twin-engine Grumman American GA-7 was found near the town of Ellicott in an area between Route 380 and Route 60, around 10 a.m., the office said….

The Jamestown City Council approved a retroactive contract agreement with the Jamestown Professional Firefighters Association Local 137 for 2018, 2019 and 2020 during its regular monthly voting session Monday.

“It’s deja vu all over again,” is one of Yogi Berra’s most memorable “Yogi-isms” and could be used to describe the latest union contract agreement by the city of Jamestown.
On Monday during the regular voting session meeting, the Jamestown City Council approved a three year agreement 2018, 2019 and 2020 with the Jamestown Professional Firefighters Association Local 137. The reasons the contract agreement seems like deja vu the feeling that one has lived through the present situation before is because just last month the city reached a similar deal with the Kendall Club Police Benevolent Association.

SILVER CREEK The Chautauqua County Sheriff’s Office said it is investigating damage caused to the windows of three businesses in the village of Silver Creek.
In a message posted to Facebook on Tuesday, the department said the damage was caused between Sunday and Tuesday.
“The Sheriff’s Office is reviewing video footage from the locations and will be following up on leads,” the Sheriff’s Office said.
Anyone with information is asked to contact the Sheriff’s Office or the investigator handling the case at 753-4910.

BUFFALO, N.Y. (WKBW) â The U.S. Attorney s Office for the Western District of New York says a Jamestown man has been indicted on sex trafficking charges.
Investigators say 30-year-old Anthony Burris has been charged with sex trafficking and enticing travel to engage in sexual activity.
According to a complaint, a mother allegedly contacted the Chautauqua County Sheriffâs Office and reported the possible sex trafficking of her daughter in January 2021.
