The donation was made at the Cervical Cancer Prevention and Training Centre (CCPTC) in Catholic Hospital, Battor by the President of the Tema Lions Club, Lion Widad Domey, and the second vice president, Lion Roderick Ocloo.
The Medical Superintendent of the hospital, Dr. Hayford Atuguba, the hospital administrator, Mr. Donatus Adaletey and the accountant, Ms. Pearl Bedzo received the cheque on behalf of the hospital. The partnership between the Tema Lions Club and the CCPTC which began in October 2019, saw 22 health workers from 11 institutions across Ghana trained in February and March 2020.

Islamabad:The stakeholders speaking at a webinar suggested that the Covid-19 vaccine donors to strictly monitor the distribution and administration of free doses being donated to the Pakistan government. They feared that free vaccine doses might be grabbed by the sides of those in power and sold on high prices as it was done in the case of Covid-19 free testing-kits. They urged for controlled mechanisms for the Covid-19 vaccination to benefit the needy ones and the frontline workers and aged people.
They also urged the government to first develop an inclusive and integrated COVID-19 vaccination policy, followed by a strategic action plan. Just firefighting would not serve the purpose to take care of the peoples’ healthcare and preventive needs. The federal government and the provinces have to be on the same page in this regard

A John Marshall High School Athletic Hall of Fame has been established that will recognize and honor those Monarch athletes, coaches, administrators and supporters who have excelled in their respective sports. Also being honored will be coaches and individuals who have been involved in support roles to bring honor, recognition, distinction and excellence to the school.
Principal Cassie Porter said, “This recognition will help maintain the spirit, pride and sense of community as well as serving as a historical account of the athletic traditions of John Marshall.”
She stated that the forming of the Athletic Hall of Fame has been in the planning stages for the past two years, with Athletic Director Roger Simmons leading the effort.

A few months ago, Hana Wali, a young Egyptian AUCian, launched Egypt Gives to find people without a home and provide them with basic resources or move them into shelters, assist those who are below the poverty-line, and eventually create centres for them. These centres would offer free rehabilitation, psychological assistance, dental and medical care, and basic education; an inspiring contribution and mission of achieving a more inclusive society.
