WARWICK - Two suspects in an ongoing firearms investigation remained on the loose Friday, after spurring a police chase from Delaware into Warwick - where scores of residents were placed on lockdown amid a manhunt that lasted approximately six hours and involved several departments and numerous officers, according to the Cecil County Sheriff s Office.
Dover (Del.) Police Department officials contacted the CCSO at 5:48 p.m. on Thursday and advised that law enforcement officers in that area were looking for two fugitives - Rahiem Jackson, 23; and Maya Hairston, 24, both of Dover - after they had fled from federal agents in that town earlier that day, reported CCSO Chief Deputy Gerald K. Widdoes.
On Thursday, May 6, 2021, at 5:48 p.m. the Cecil County Sheriff’s Office was contacted by the Dover (DE) Police Department in reference to attempting to locate two fugitives who fled from police, according to Cecil County Sheriff Chief Deputy Gerald Widdoes. Both suspects were wanted in regards to a shooting incident and units were advised that the suspects were believed to be armed.
Units from the United States Marshal’s Service Task Force out of Dover attempted to arrest these individuals which resulted in the subjects fleeing in a vehicle driving down the sidewalk of a Dover business to avoid being pinned in by police. Units lost the suspect vehicle however it was spotted again a short while later and another pursuit ensued this time entering into Maryland where the suspects were able to evade police again.
CECIL COUNTY, Md. - A woman is facing multiple charges after allegedly setting a home on fire with a person inside and watching it burn from a lawn chair.Â
According to the Maryland Fire Marshal, the incident happened on April 29 when the fire department responded to a house fire in Elkton, Maryland.Â
The fire marshal said witnesses saw 47-year-old Gail Metwally setting multiple fires inside the home. She then sat in a lawn chair where she watched the flames engulf the home.Â
After a few minutes, Metwally walked away from the scene.
As the home was burning, witnesses heard someone in the basement window yelling for help.Â
