No new tax imposed as KMC approves budget of Rs26 billion June 30, 2021 The Karachi Metropolitan Corporation (KMC) has approved a budget of Rs25,982.414 million for the next financial year with a surplus of Rs11.947 million, as the expenditures are estimated at Rs25,970.467 million. Karachi Administrator Laeeq Ahmed on Tuesday approved the budget using the powers of the city council under the notification of the Sindh government. No new tax has been imposed. The administrator said that for the next financial year, priority was given to those development schemes which were in the interest of the public. “Non-development schemes are kept to a minimum; new and ongoing projects of roads, gardens, playgrounds and sports complexes have been added to improve the infrastructure of Karachi.”

Sindh Building Control Authority (SBCA) staff reached spot and sealed the building after preliminary inspection. The SBCA were of the view that a complete inspection will be carried out in the morning after which it will be decided whether the building if fit for living or not.

KARACHI: The Sindh Building Control Authority (SBCA) staff have sealed a five-storey residential building located in Allah Wala Town area of Karachi’s Korangi after it tilted to one side, ARY News reported on Monday. As per details, SBCA staff reached the spot and sealed the building after preliminary inspection. The team was of the view that a complete inspection will be carried out in the morning after which it will be decided whether the building is fit for living or not. The SBCA officials also informed that the five-storey residential building has constructed on 94-yard plot and consists of 10 flats. The officials said that the residents of the building have evacuated the building and added that valuables belonging to residents are still in the building.
