Sindh Governor Imran Ismail has said that the federal government will give Rs750,000 in compensation for the heirs of each of the persons who have lost their lives in the Hyderabad power transformer blast tragedy.
In a statement issued on Friday, he announced that each of the persons seriously injured in the transformer blast tragedy would get Rs500,000 in compensation. The person who received minor injuries in the incident would get Rs300,000 in financial compensation.
The governor said the people injured in the incident would be given the best possible health treatment by the government for their earliest recovery. He also telephoned Federal Energy Minister Hammad Azhar and asked him to conduct an impartial probe into the incident for fixing responsibility. He told the federal minister that whoever was responsible for the tragedy should be handed down a stern punishment.

ISLAMABAD: Federal Minister for Information and Broadcasting Fawad Chaudhry on Tuesday alleged that in Sindh, fake cases on government pressure have become a common thing.
“The new FIR against Sultan Rind is such an action. I have requested Sindh Governor Imran Ismail to get immediate report of this incident from the IG Sindh,” the minister said in a tweet. He emphasized that freedom of expression will be ensured in all cases.
In another tweet, the minister said: “Alhamdulillah, as a result of the work done during COVID in the Ministry of Science, a fourth company has also got the licence to make ventilators.” The minister was hopeful that Pakistan would start exporting ventilators this year. “This year, I hope we will start exporting vents. A health city has been built in Faisalabad. Auto disposable syringes will be made in September,” he announced.

SUKKUR: Former chief minister Sindh Sardar Mumtaz Ali Bhutto passed away on Sunday in Karachi at the age of 92.
The Nimaz-e-Janaza would be held today (Monday) at Mirpur Bhutto village. The veteran politician, who had also served as the governor of Sindh, had been suffering from multiple ailments, said Ameer Bakhsh Bhutto, son of the Mumtaz Bhutto.
A cousin and close associate of former prime minister and PPP founder Zulfikar Ali Bhutto, Mumtaz Bhutto passed away at his residence in Karachi.
According to family members, Mumtaz Bhutto was suffering from lungs disease, but passed away due to a heart attack.
