KARACHI: The Sindh Assembly on Friday echoed with strong criticism of the federal government over the acute shortage of gas in the province which was getting about 900 million cubic feet per day (mmcfd) against its requirement of 1,700mmcfd.
Replying to a calling-attention notice moved by Nand Kumar Goklani of Grand Democratic Alliance (GDA) in the house, Sindh Energy Minister Imtiaz Shaikh said that the province produced 64 per cent of total gas in the country and its people had the first right on it under the Constitution.

Lahore: A policy consultation on achieving Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and fulfilling commitments under the Convention on Elimination of Discrimination against Women (CEDAW) was held here on Wednesday.
The consultation was organised by Shirkat Gah, Women’s Resource Centre (SG) and the Democratic Commission for Human Development. It provided a platform for engagement between elected and executive members of government and civil society to engage with Pakistan’s progress on achieving SDGs targets particularly SDG 5-Gender Equality and SDG 10-Reduced Inequalities and fulfilling commitments under CEDAW.
