Grantham care home creates wellness card to promote health and wellbeing

Staff at a Grantham care home have been told to relax and look after their own wellbeing during Stress Awareness Month in April.
To help combat some of the mental strains and pressures that care workers have had to face over the past 12 months, Red Court Care Community, St Edmunds Close, has launched its own wellbeing loyalty card.
Designed to help its care workers adopt positive habits every day, the homes have also sent out information about how staff can help themselves â whether thatâs daily yoga practice, stretching, breathing, walking or reading.
Youngsters invited to host online lessons for Grantham care home residents

A Grantham care home are appealing for youngsters to host online lessons for their elderly residents.
Red Court Care Community, on St Edmunds Close, are inviting children to step into the shoes of a teacher for a few minutes, in a bid to help elderly residents learn something new.
The youngsters are asked to present a lesson of their choice via video, which will be streamed directly to its residents, whether the children are in the classroom or based at home.

Care home residents made cards and sent get well wishes to the Mayor of Grantham after he suffered a stroke recently.
Residents and staff at Red Court Care Community, on St Edmunds Close, Grantham, have spent their afternoons crafting cards for Councillor Dean Ward who is recovering at home after an operation.
Throughout the pandemic Red Court has received a number of fantastic donations from members of the community and as a way of thanking Grantham, residents and staff wanted to give something back as they know from direct experience that kind words and gestures go such a long way.

Anyone who knows the work of popular Grantham artist Terry Shelbourne is sure to recognise his signature hedgehog.
And so it was fitting that one should accompany him on his final journey, along with flowers made into the design of an artistâs palette.
Yesterday (Thursday) was the funeral of Terry, Granthamâs best known artist and Journal cartoonist of more than 30 years.

As the Rev David Shenton said in the welcome address at the service, many people in the town have been Terryâs âvictimsâ, or caricature subjects, as had he. He remarked how he treasures his caricature and has, with pride, shown it to family and friends.
Grantham care home appeals for Christmas cards for residents

A Grantham care home is appealing for the community to send Christmas cards to residents.
Staff at Red Court Care Home want to make this Christmas as special as it can be for their residents after a difficult year for everyone.
The care home, in St Edmunds Close, is appealing to young and older people to design and create the most festive Christmas card they can make and send it in to the home.
